Our son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 13. The issues we experienced accessing a diagnosis and the correct educational support for him led me get in touch with the Forum.
It has been a difficult time for us as a family and it’s a great comfort to meet and share experiences with others facing similar challenges. I hope that the work we achieve though the Forum will improve awareness and understanding of special needs among wider society and increase the resources available in the island to benefit children/young adults with special needs and their families.
