I have been working in the Finance industry for 27 years and balance this role as the mother of two sons (Harry 16 and George 6) with the support of my husband Mark. George has a 4q12 chromosome deletion which means he has complex needs on a day to day basis. He has severe hypermobility, mild hearing impairment, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder. Despite all these challenges George is a loving child with a strong sense of fun. I volunteered for Parent Forum to provide support and a voice for anyone in Jersey that faces similar challenges with a Special Needs child. I want to be a voice for change. I hope that I can share my experience and knowledge to enable easy navigation through the maze of jargon, paper and form-filling.
