Lisa Jacobs

I am a mother of two boys and my eldest son Finn who is 14 years old has a rare chromosome disorder (12q deletion) which has left him with complex learning difficulties and no speech.

Finn has attended Mont á L’Abbé School since he was 3 years old and during this time I have been involved in the school’s charity ‘Friends of Mont á L’Abbé School’. Since 2012, I have represented families of the School by working in partnership with the States of Jersey on initiatives that support children and their families. As a parent with a special needs child you have many barriers to overcome during their lifetime and even though services have come a long way there is still a lot of work to be done. I am passionate about ensuring families receive the support they need and deserve and this is why I became a Committee Member of The Jersey Parent Forum.
