I have an 11 year old daughter who is at Mont A L’Abbe School. She has severe learning difficulties and was diagnosed only last year as Autistic with ADHD. I joined the parent forum because since having our daughter we have been constantly battling with different departments and services to get her diagnosed and to get any kind of support and respite. I would like to help other families avoid this stress by sharing my experiences with the parent forum, so we can work together towards changing and improving things and for the lines of communication to be more clear. I have learnt a lot over the years, however our path for the what the future holds is still very unclear. By being on the parent forum I hope to learn what is available for our daughter in the future and have a clearer understanding of the processes which we will need to go through, and to play a part in changes or developments that may be required.
